Glenn Hughes Retires from Touring Ahead of Heart Surgery
The Deep Purple and Black Sabbath veteran cancels an October date after scans showed he needs surgery.
Glenn Hughes has ended his touring career. The 75-year-old singer-bassist said scans and an echocardiogram showed he needs another open-heart surgery, leaving him "no option and no choice."
Hughes had already scrapped a spring US tour. His final performance was May 30th with the Dead Daisies, billed as the Purple Daisies; a second show under that name set for October 2nd is now cancelled.
Nuno Bettencourt, Matt Sorum and Joe Satriani were among those posting support.
